page is where i'll write about the happenings of the last
meet (below) and include pics from meets (way below) if i
actually remember to take any! DUNEDIN MEMBERS MEET INFO SATURDAY,
04 FEBRUARY 2006 Unfortunately not all were able to attend the cruise for various reasons, so we ended up with six (R34 GT-R, R34 25 GT, R33 GTS-25t, R32 GTS-4, R32 GTS and the R30). So we cruised out along SH1 from North Dunedin towards Evansdale, took a (very rough and bumpy!) back road to Karitane, then back up the hill to take photos at a lookout, then back down that hill again towards SH1 at Cherry Farm. We then cruised off to that W place i can never remember the name of (by the ocean inlet thingy with the sole petrol station), took another back road (which leads up to a road in North Dunedin) until we hit gravel (they were re-doing the whole road!) at which point we decided not to go any further and all went our seperate ways from there. So it was a pretty awesome meet taking in the number of cars that turned up! Clicky here for the pictures! PREVIOUS MEETS SATURDAY,
14 JANUARY 2006 When down the bottom of the aformentioned hill, more back roads were utilised until we arrived in Outram, where upon leaving yet more back roads were attacked, continuing through Henley and down another back road to Waihola. After taking pictures etc a Laurel pulled up (were on their way home when they saw us from the highway) and a couple more pics were taken before eventually everyone left after getting bored watching a few of people attempt to waterski (and after watching the one person, who managed to do so, zoom way over to the other side of the lake). Clicky here for the pictures! SATURDAY,
17 DECEMBER 2005 After that we took another back road which lead into Ocean Grove/Tomahawk road and then parked up near Tahuna Park where we all departed. Clicky here for the pictures! SATURDAY,
26 NOVEMBER 2005 The meet went ahead anyway with a few regulars not being able to make it so we only ended up with five cars. An R32 GTS-4, an R33 GTS-25t, two R34 25 GT's and an R34 GT-R V-Spec. Most of us were googling over the GT-R too much but once we snapped out of it it was decided to cruise out to Aramoana - some of the people hadn't been out that way for years. With me leading the convoy everyone was forced to stick to the speed limit (muahahahahahaaaaa!!!) and so remained relatively bunched up for the trip. Everyone had a few seconds to use the power of their car to pass a slow moving four wheel drive jeepy thing so it wasn't all at a 'granny driver' pace. Anywho. We got there and it was quite crowded, the GT-R was the first to leave, then the R33 and then the R34 25 GT coupe. After staying for a wee while longer to talk i decided to head off too and thats that. Was a pretty good meet overall. SATURDAY,
05 NOVEMBER 2005 There was an R32 GTS, two R32 GTS-t's, an R32 GTS-4, an R33 GTS-25t, an R34 25 GT and a R34 GT-T on loan from Southern Motor Court (car is now sold). We ended up deciding to cruise to Waihola even though it was a very windy day and when we got there we all lined up for another photoshoot, Cora and Corey joining us just in her R32 GTS-t after most of the pics had been taken. So our now eight car convoy took off from Waihola and, following the GT-T, took a whole lot of back roads to Outram (some of which i'd never driven on before) and then out to North Taieri where we all said our goodbyes and departed. This still stands as our biggest meet yet, but i'm hoping that the upcoming December meet will top it! Clicky here for the pictures! SATURDAY,
01 OCTOBER 2005 Anywho, we all met up at the Mornington Lookout, for the last time as we have a new meet place now, at 1pm again and had a new car (and driver) along too. So three Skylines and a Cefiro (the new guy) stood around in the cold wind for about ten minutes and then we took off to McDonalds in Andy Bay. After a few peeps bought lunch we headed out to St Kilda, now with a guy in a CRX tagging along (because Cora/Corey etc knew him). After freezing at the beach Reece was telling everyone about a really cheap Skyline GTS-t in Kaikorai Valley. So we all cruised over there to take a mosey at it (same colour as mine and in really good condition) to see why it was so cheap. To say it was a bargain would be an understatement, the car was seriously cheap for its condition! The guy who came along in the CRX was showing a bit of interest in the car, asking questions about Skylines to us Skyline owning people and eventually he took the car for a test drive, sorted out finance stuff and insurance then picked up the car the following Monday! So maybe we should go to a car dealership every time we have meets so someone else buys a Skyline! *ponders thought* SUNDAY,
04 SEPTEMBER 2005 Anywho, three cars turned up to it - me, Reece and a new member who i contacted and told about the meet. There was supposed to be a fourth person but i unfortunately didn't hear back from him. We all met up at the Mornington Lookout in Dunedin and sat (stood actually) talking for what seemed like an hour or more, and then when the wind got too much we decided to cruise on over to another city lookout (go figure!). After cruising down George & Princess Streets - with me getting the majority of the orange lights at the back of the small convoy - we stopped again at the Signal Hill lookout and chatted away for a while once again. Then we all went our seperate ways - me heading off to play Cricket on the beach across the road from my brothers place and taking half the beach back in my shoes! It would good meeting a couple of new faces and hopefully the next meet gets a little more interest! Clicky here for the pictures! SATURDAY,
18 SEPTEMBER 2004 So Dad gave me the keys and my brother and i took off to Tomahawk Beach. We drove onto the sand, took a few pics and then went to St Kilda/John Wilson Drive to take more pictures. On the way back to his house i spotted the GTS-t of one of the SSE members so when i got near him i flashed the lights etc and then stopped down the road. We got talking and he mentioned that there could be a little cruise later that night. Later on at about 9:30pm we were talking on MSN Messenger trying to figure out somewhere to go and eventually it was decided to meet up in George Street. We did so (Dad driving) then headed off to some windy roads on the hills surrounding the city and then looked for a place to get a coffee when we got back. The place we found had the music up really loud and the bass was shaking the floor etc - which meant i couldn't hear a ruddy thing everyone else was saying so kept saying 'yep' all the time! Ah well. Then after everyone had their fancy named coffee's (except me - i didn't like the look of anything so went thirsty) we took off to Ben's house and had a look at the cars etcetera (with me staying in the car as i was frozen to the seat with cold). Then we went back out to Andy Bay for a while to watch all the modified cars cruise around until me and Dad decided to call it a night at about 11:50pm. Not a bad night, if you exclude the air temperature... |
